Ettal, which monastery and Benediktiner abbey was found in 1330, is located between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberammergau. In 1752, in addition to that belongs the Rokoko church with its 52 metres high dome was accomplished. Today the abbey manages a gymnasium including a boarding school, furthermore a brewery, a liqueur distillery and different public houses.
