Wieskirche

In the urban district Wies at Steingaden, The Wieskirche is located there, one of the famoust Rokoko churches in Germany, which was build in 1745 til 1754 by Dominikus Zimmermann and belongs to the UNESCO’s world cultural heritage since 1983. In the churche’s midpoint is the ‚Gegeißelte Heiland’, in which eyes a peasant woman found tears in year 1738. This ‚tear miracle’ passes to the henceforward taking place pilgrimage and to the construction of the present church.
