To the east of Garmisch-Partenkirchen the open-air museum is located high above the Kochelsee. There you don’t have only got a gorgeous view into the mountains, but you also see into the peoples’ lifestyle of region from the early modern age til into the present. Buildings, mills, workshops and alps are original received. You can experience old handicrafts like clappers, spinning, jewellery making, copper-smith, cooping, backing bread, making grindstones and carpenting at the handicraft screenings.
